Greek accents, spacing, and a readable handwritten line

Use accents, letter proportions, and spacing to move from a Greek alphabet chart into ordinary handwriting.

Keep accents attached to the syllable

The accent marks stress in modern Greek. In handwriting, keep it close enough to belong to the intended vowel while leaving enough air that it does not merge with another mark.

Practise a word without the accent once, then add it and compare the change. The mark should clarify the word rather than become a separate drawing problem.

Give round forms room

Lowercase Greek includes rounded forms and descenders that can crowd neighbouring letters when written too large. Set a consistent body height before trying to increase speed.

Check the spaces inside and between letters. Open counters help readers distinguish a deliberate handwritten form from a compressed one.

Finish with real phrases

Write a short phrase containing both familiar-looking and distinctly Greek forms. This tests case, accents, spacing, and recall in one manageable line.

Keep the phrase short enough to review. One corrected line teaches more than a page of repeated forms you never inspect.
